FOX SPIRIT BFS WINNERS!

BRITISH FANTASY SOCIETY BEST SMALL PRESS 2015

Fox-Spirit-British Fantasy Awards

Super pleased that Fox Spirit totally nailed it and came away from the British Fantasy Society Awards with the ‘Best Small Press’ trophy. Huge hugs all round for a publishers that is only three years old and had also shortlisted for ‘Best Short Story’ with Gaie Sebold’s tale in Wicked Women AND ‘Best Fantasy Novel’ for the excellent Breed by K.T. Davies.

I’m very happy to have created the ‘Aunty Fox’ logo, as a small contribution to the big team effort!

British Fantasy Award Nominations 2015, BRITISH FANTASY AWARDS NOMINATIONS? – well, BLIMEY! Not too sure how that happened but…

Super pleased to find I’ve been nominated. A very nice thing to wake up to on Tuesday morning. WOW. Really smart to be nominated amongst such good company including partners in crime Lavie Tidhar and Adele Wearing at Fox Spirit. Nice left of field list this year.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday, 25 October 2015, at FantasyCon 2015 in Nottingham. You can see the full list of nominations right here over at the British Fantasy Society. Big thanks everybody!

The Stars Seem So Far Away

Cover Design For Margrét Helgadóttir

Wars, famine and plagues rage across the dying Earth. Fleeing the deadly sun, humans migrate farther and farther north. The last shuttles to the space colonies, crammed to their limits, are long gone. The only plants and animals left are those that humans create in laboratories and artificial soil.
Guerrilla soldier Simik fights for independence for his forefathers’ land, once called the Green Land. On a remote island, Bjørg and her great white beasts guard a resource that could help ensure human survival. Sailor Nora plunders ships on the northern sea, while Zaki journeys to the promised land in the west. Amongst the legendary skyscrapers of plague-stricken Svalbard, Aida struggles to survive.

Five people in a future north. These are their tales.

How far will he be willing to go? How far does lifelong friendship go when he finally meets the woman of his peculiar dreams?

So a sizzling tale of crime, intrigue and sexual tension calls for the some hot dames courtesy of the wonderful world of pulp fiction. And with such a great legacy of visual art to call upon – Pulp Covers has a particularly cool selection – we ended up with one of these…
