Forbidden Planet Posters & Me.

Forbidden Planet Posters.

I Am Doing Something. Honestly.

The day job involves turning up at Forbidden Planet. Repeatedly. And quite often I get to design Forbidden Planet posters. Hey, there’s tea, lovely people, a huge Mac and, AND absolutely the best Science Fiction licences to illustrate with. These guys’ll end up as giant window display boards in the company’s stores… and honestly? Nobody likes working for the man but it’s pretty nice when Toho Films give you the okay for your Godzilla poster to go to print!

Vampires & Fizzy Pop & Art Passes…

Now With Extra Giraffes.

Den Patrick created one of these. Awesome work Den. The peculiar little guy is The Fizzy Pop Vampire. For the most part he steals lemonade, cupcakes and hunts about for a new set of teeth. Poor dental hygiene, you see.Hello Mr Fizzy Pop Vampire
You can read more about him on your iPad. He’s actually a children’s book. Oh, and he has a best friend call Keith. Keith is a giraffe.

Lavie Tidhar. Tel Aviv Dossiers.

And Tea Stains.

Into the city of Tel Aviv the whirlwinds come, and nothing will ever be the same.

Through a city torn apart by a violence they cannot comprehend, three disparate people—a documentary film-maker, a yeshiva student, and a psychotic fireman—must try to survive, and try to find meaning: even if it means being lost themselves. As Tel Aviv is consumed, a strange mountain rises at the heart of the city, and shows the outline of what may be another, alien world beyond. Can there be redemption there? Can the fevered rumours of a coming messiah be true?

As the city loses contact with the outside world and closes in on itself, as the few surviving children play and scavenge in the ruins, can innocence survive, and is it possible for hope to spring amid such chaos?

A potent mixture of biblical allusions, Lovecraftian echoes, science fiction and contemporary culture, The Tel Aviv Dossier is part supernatural thriller, part meditation on the nature of belief—an original and involving novel painted on a vast canvas in which, beneath the despair, humour is never absent.

Fizzy Pop Vampire

A Heart Warming Tale Of Vampires. Lemonade. Wiggly Words & Wobbly Drawings.

Once upon a day at work a conversation with Den Patrick went something thus….

I can illustrate your book.
You’ve never illustrated anything like it?
Nope.
And you don’t have the slightest clue what it is or how it works?
Nope.
Okay, good enough for me!

- Den & Sarah -

And so I acquired partial ownership of a fat vampire that steals lemonade. Cool. Given the large degree of trust just involved there I thought I’d better try and do something pretty damned spandy with the crayons.
